The main intention of the Haitian Foundation for Social Assistance (FHAS) is to provide a genuine alternative education while helping to increase school attendance in the rural communities. Programs such as head start, kindergartens, which will drive children to a vocational school in a determined period of time, through this program a daily hot meal should be provided as an incentive for parents to send their children to class. This simple and well-balanced hot meal will evolve into a comprehensive food-assisted education approach combining school feeding with activities that focus on children access to education, welfare support for families and teachers as well as health education and services.
Our hope is that school infrastructure will increase parental action and community involvement in development projects.
This is what we stand for.
